Advanced Insurance Academy Starts Sept. 12

Aviva pulling Multi Choice Fixed Single Premium Life Effective 10/1/11

Aviva is decreasing caps, crediting and illustrated rates on our Multi Choice Indexed Single Premium Life, effective October 1, 2011.

Rates for the MultiChoice Indexed SPL will be as follows:
One-Year Point-to-Point Strategy:
The Cap Rate will decrease from 7% to 6%.
The Illustrated Rate will decrease from to 4.9% to 4.25%.

One-Year Monthly Average Strategy:
The Cap Rate will decrease from 8% to 7%.
The Illustrated Rate will decrease from 4.70% to 4.30%.

Basic Interest Strategy:
The crediting rate will decrease from 3.5% to 3%.

Monthly Cap Strategy:
The Illustrated Rate will decrease from 6.05% to 4.90.
The Cap Rate will decrease from 3% to 2.50%.

The new rates will apply to all new Indexed Single Premium life business with issue effective dates of October 1, 2011, and after. The new rates will also apply to any new money contributed after September 30 to inforce Single Premium Life policies.

We will begin illustrating the reduced caps and rates starting September 1, 2011 in LPSS and WinFlex.

West Coast Life vs. Protective Life

As we have advised everyone in the past, West Coast Life is being merged into Protective Life. (they really do not want anymore licensing or applications from west coast life). With that said, we are taking the quoting ability of west coast life off the website. Protective Life has the same exact underwriting , rates, products as west coast life. An agent who is currently licensed with West Coast Life can still write them(until 12.1.11) with that said, agents should start writing/contracting with Protective . It will make it an easier transition. If the agent needs to  write  West Coast Life, please call Partners Advantage to  run the quote(which is the same rate as Protective).

How is RBC treating pending business?  Any life applications in good order received at our service center by end of business June 10, 2011 will be accepted 

What is the time frame for policies with pending requirements?   For policies with pending requirements, they will have til August to complete the requirements - at this time we do not know the date in August that will be the cutoff 

Will agents have access to their client information after 6/10/11?   The terminations letters the agent's received outlined how to maintain access to client information after 6/10/11 - the is information on the home page of the Sales Resource Center If so, what phone number can the agents call to obtain information on their client policies.   The numbers will not change - the agents and clients will still call 1.866.765.4555 option 1 for client information.

American Equity announces the return of 8% on the Lifetime Income Benefit Rider!!!!

You asked for it and we are happy to deliver! The 8% IAV Rate will be available for applications dated between June 6, 2011, and September 30, 2011! With the return of the 8% IAV, LIBR-2010 offers these great features:

  1. Your clients have the choice of a 5% or 8% IAV Rate. The 5% option remains available for all issue ages for NO FEE. The 8% option is available for issue ages 50 and above with a fee of 90 bps annually.
  2. For the 8% IAV Rate option the IAV Period will be 7 years and the Reset will be between the 3rd and 7th Contract Anniversaries.
  3. Remember - FEES MATTER! LIBR-2010 still calculates and deducts the fee from the Contract Value, not the Income Account Value like other income riders on the market today! When comparing Lifetime Income Benefit Riders, it is important to understand how fees are calculated. We believe that American Equity is still the best choice for income!
  4. Compound vs. Simple Interest - American Equity uses compound interest to compute the rollup on the IAV. Many Income Riders available on the market use Simple Interest. Don't be mislead by IAV Rates when comparing Income Riders, check to see how interest is calculated and credited to the IAV.

PLEASE NOTE: the new LIBR-2010 disclosure (Form #1127 6.6.11) will be required prior to issue to get the new 8% IAV Rate. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Also, contracts may not be sent in for a free-look cancel and then reissued with the new rider.

We will continue to accept the current LIBR-2010 with the 7% IAV Rate for applications SIGNED on or before June 15, 2011. Business must be issued by July 29, 2011.

West Coast Life now going Non-Medical up to $500,000 (standard n/t is best offer)

If you apply for a Standard underwriting class in one of the following bands, West Coast Life will accept the Non-Medical declaration in lieu of an exam:
o Age 0-15: Face Amounts of $0 - $500,000
o Age 16-35: Face Amounts of $0 - $250,000

o Age 41-50: Face Amounts of $0 - $49,999

Allianz announces Premium Plus Event!

From March 17 through April 25 only, the bonus on MasterDex X® Annuity increases to 10%.
Allianz is making the #1-selling fixed index annuity in the industry even more attractive.
Because for a limited time, they’re increasing the bonus to 10% on premium payments received in the first three contract years.

Premium+ Event details:
To be eligible for the additional premium bonus, the annuity application and premium (or application and transfer form) must be received by 5:00 p.m. Central time on April 25, 2011. 7.2% is Back!! Aviva increases rider roll-up rates.

Aviva is moving the roll-up rate on the Income Edge Plus Rider back to 7.2%. The Accumulation Period will now be 10 years, and we will continue to offer your clients the ability to elect restarts every 5 years to establish a new 10-year Accumulation Period--as many times as they wish until they begin taking rider income.

The change will be effective on all Income Preferred Series and Income Select Series annuities with the Income Edge Plus Rider issued on or after March 4, 2011. While we cannot reissue policies, any pending business with the Income Edge Plus Rider included will receive the new rollup rate if the issue date is on or after March 4, 2011. For pending business, you will need to submit a new signed Certificate of Disclosure for the 7.2% roll-up rate, either prior to issuance of the contract OR after issue as a delivery requirement.
We are instituting new income rider Certifi cates of Disclosure in all states EXCEPT Delaware and Oregon -- even in those states where the 7.2% rate has remained in effect.

Please note that updated marketing materials and Certificates of Disclosure will only be available on Aviva Live until we can reprint our inventory to reflect the change. We anticipate materials being available in Supply in about two weeks.

North American Wants to invite you to Las Vegas (Feb. 2012)

Qualification period is from March 1, 2011-August 31, 2011. Your meals and lodging are paid for(you just have to get there). If a qualifying producing agent produces $25,000 in paid annualized life premium, you will have two nights at the Bellagio on North American. Metlife Clients can Convert Term and may be able to convert to a BETTER CLASS

Beginning March 14, 2011, through June 14,2011, Term Conversion Plus is open to owners of Metlife term policies issued standard n/t or better with an issue date ranging from March 1, 2006 to November 1, 2010. There must not be no more than 6o months between the existing term policy issue date and the application date of the new policy. Insureds must be between the ages of 18 and 60 with traditionally underwritten term policies. Conversion applications will be reviewed by underwriter and current MIB, MVR, and Presciption history database checks will be reviewed to determine is any significant changes in health/insurability since the date of the original term policy. Policies that do not qualify for a better class will be converted at their contractually guaranteed underwriting classification. Call for more details

Prudential introduces the Working Person's Term Life Insurance-Rates Guaranteed to age 65

What makes WorkLife 65 so new and exciting?

West Coast Life Secure T Series increasing rates (20 year-2%), (10 and 15 year -5%)-starts 1/31/11

, West Coast Life will increase current rates on Secure-T for the 10, 15, and 20 year plans. The Secure-T product will remain competitively positioned for short-term coverage at affordable rates. Premiums will be higher across the board on the Secure-T 10, 15, and 20 year plans.

On Jan. 6, 2011, Genworth announced they will suspend sales for their Total Living Coverage® Annuity in all available states, with the exception of South Dakota which is pending approval. Effective February 7, 2011 the Genworth Financial companies will no longer accept new applications for its Total Living Coverage® Annuity. Existing contract holders will experience no change – the terms and conditions of existing contracts will not change.
